Cheese-making At The Weekend - An Introduction

On this one day cheese-making course not only will you learn how to make your own artisan cheese but you will also be tutored on all aspects of this fascinating food by one of the countries leading experts.   Cheese is the ultimate artisan food, wholesome, tasty and totally irresistible. Learn how to make your own cheese from scratch under the expert tuition of Phil Heler.  These course was recently named in the FT's top 5 best cheese-making courses. Phil who learnt his skills at Reaceheath College along with working in New Zealand as a cheesemaker will tutor you in the techniques and theory to allow you to make your own soft cheeses.

You will start your day by learning how to make a camembert style cheese. You will also learn about rennet, temperatures and techniques.

Lunch will include a tutored cheese tasting with a board of UK cheeses when you will be shown how an expert like Phil samples and grades cheese.

In the afternoon you will learn how to make a lemon cheese and also a mozzarella.

At the end of the day you will have three glorious cheeses to take home and impress your loved ones with along with a real insight into the technicalities of the cheese making process.

This course is aimed at cheese lovers and the curious and is guaranteed to leave you grinning like a cheshire cat!

Course times: 9.30 - 4.30

This course includes an informal light lunch of cheese & merriment.
