Stephanie Moon - "Farmers Market Shop & Cook"
Join celebrity chef Stephanie Moon on her trip to Bakewell Farmers Market to source and buy the most outstanding local ingredients.
Then head back to the kitchen at our School of Food next door and learn under her expert tuition how to make 3 fantastic original canapes inspired by your earlier purchases of artisan foods. Steph's idea is to bring some fresh new ideas to these little "morsels of fun".
You will then prepare before lunch:
* A starter of pan fried soda bread with homemade chive butter and local cheese with crispy bacon and local salad leaves, homemade vinaigrette.
* Local steak, local vegetables and gratin dauphinoise with tips on cooking steak and how to get the most out of your vegetables and how to make a mustard grain sauce.
* You will also start to prepare an Assiette of puddings.
After all your hard work sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labour for lunch including a pre-taster of the Assiette too.
After lunch you will continue to make the full assiette of desserts. At the end of the day each student will take away 2 portions of each of the courses prepared to be enjoyed later with friends and family.
End the day with a recipe handout and discussion on the days findings along with some essential tips from Stephanie on how to improvise when needed.
