Food writing & blogging course
During our weekend food writing and blogging course you will be guided by our expert panel of tutors on how to develop and hone your writing skills to write about food and drin and be able to share your experiences of it with others.
Learn how to write a restaurant review and talk about your own food and drink interests & recipes and find your own ‘writers voice’. Let our tutours take you through the basic options of which blogging software to use: blogger, stumble, wordpress and then show you how to set up and format your own blog.
At the end of the weekend all students will have created their own individual food blog, be able to write blog posts as well as creating and adding images. Students will be shown how to:
• Publishing a post including creating headlines and excerpts, format the post and add links. Insert images and tag your posts.
• Write a post, incorporate guest posts and share your content on other social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.
• Learn how to manage and moderate comments
• Tools of the trade - understanding the the stats, search engine optimisation to maximise the visibility of your blog and using widgets to make it more usable and interesting.
The course includes light lunch on both days together with a gourment three course evening meal prepared by our resident expert chef together with a tasting of wines which you will then go on to write your expert review as part of the course.
