Food Foraging & Cookery (SOLD OUT)

foraging course, foraging course peak district, foraging derbyshire

This full day foraging course will give you a fascinating insight into the best wildfoods of the season. You will spend a day in the woods foraging with renown expert Chris Bax from Taste The Wild learning to find and identify edible plants, seeds, nuts, flowers and fungi that grow wild in the British countryside. Depending on the season we may be tapping trees for sap, gathering wild herbs or picking edible fungi, but no matter what we find you will learn how to prepare and transform foraged foods into great dishes.

The day starts with a foraging walk from Bakewell out into the surrounding countryside, where Chris will guide you through the identification and harvesting of wild ingredients. This walk will last for about 3-4 hours and we will be stopping for a packed ploughmans lunch of locally sourced artisan produce. On your return to the cookery school Chris will demonstrate how to turn your foraged ingredients into simple and exciting dishes.
